Programme:

We’ll kick off the week at 9:30am on Monday morning and finish up at around 3pm on Friday afternoon. The focus of the week will be on canoeing, with opportunities to develop your skills on the water, though we will also have time to experience other outdoor activities, during the week. In the evenings we’ll all join together to reflect on the day, along with some much-needed downtime to socialise with others on the residential and make lasting friendships.

What’s included?

  • Full programme of activities throughout the week
  • All equipment needed for activities
  • Accommodation in shared en-suite rooms
  • All bedding
  • All meals – from lunch on Monday to lunch on Friday
  • Meets all criteria for the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Residential section

How to get here:
Gowanbank has great transport links. Hop on a train or bus to Kilmarnock. There are regular trains to Kilmarnock from Glasgow and Carlisle. From Kilmarnock, catch Bus 1 through to Newmilns which will drop you just a few minutes away from the centre.

Note: The programme will start at around 10:30am on Monday so aim to arrive around 9:30am, where possible, to give time to get settled in, but please get in touch if transport options would necessitate a later arrival time.

Don’t miss this opportunity to push your boundaries, make new friends, and create lasting memories – secure your spot now!

Cost

The cost for the week is £345 per person. If cost is an issue, please speak to your local DofE manager as they may be able to access a DofE bursary to support you with the cost of your residential.

DofE Requirements

DofE requires that the majority of participants on a residential should be unknown to each other. For this reason, as this is a small event, we would encourage you to book individually, or with no more than one other person known to you prior to the residential.

Following DofE requirements, minimum numbers for a residential are 5. In the unlikely event we don’t reach minimum numbers for a residential we reserve the right to cancel. Any monies paid will be refunded or an alternative date offered.

Your team leader for this holiday is Beth Rickman.
