Duke of Edinburgh Gold Cooking Residential - DOE8b
Ready to complete your Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Residential? Look no further! Join us at Gowanbank for a week of learning to cook, personal growth, and, most importantly, fun!
This residential, for 16 - 18 year olds, will give you the opportunity to meet the requirements of your Gold Residential whilst also cultivating your cooking skills, meeting new people, and creating lasting memories.
Programme:
We’ll kick off the week at 9:30am on Monday morning and finish up at 3pm on Friday afternoon. Each day we’ll learn to cook a range of meals and home-baking (no cooking experience needed!) and in the evenings we’ll all join together to reflect on the day, along with some much-needed downtime to socialise with others on the residential and make lasting friendships.
What’s included?
- Full programme of cooking and activities throughout the week
- All equipment needed for cooking and activities
- Accommodation in shared en-suite rooms
- All bedding (but don’t forget your towel!)
- All meals – from lunch on Monday to lunch on Friday
- Meets all criteria for the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Residential section
How to get here:
Gowanbank has great transport links. Hop on a train or bus to Kilmarnock. There are regular trains to Kilmarnock from Glasgow and Carlisle. From Kilmarnock, catch Bus 1 through to Newmilns which will drop you just a few minutes away from the centre.
Don’t miss this opportunity to level up your cooking, make new friends, and create lasting memories – secure your spot now! Please remember that to fulfil the DofE Gold Residential requirements, participants should not know each other beforehand; therefore, we encourage you to book independently, not with friends.
