You will:
-
Grow in understanding of how faith develops in children and young people
-
Think more about helping young people explore the Bible including how to give an inspiring biblical talk
-
Explore how to effectively lead a small group
-
Consider your leadership style and the role you are likely to play in a team
-
Participate in a day of team building activities
-
Learn skills of reflection throughout the week and understand how this can aid personal growth.
Working as part of a team you will have many opportunities to put your learning and new skills into practice. All of this, alongside quality Bible teaching and time for personal reflection, will help you move forward your Christian faith.
LeadUP is based at comfortableAlltnacriche, SU Scotland’s residential centre, near Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park.
The COmMISSION Programme
LeadUP is part of the COmMISSION programme which is accredited by the SQA at level 6 and is made up of three stages: Training, Action and Review.
After Basecamp (training) we provide the opportunity to put your training into action by serving as a team member on a holiday or mission team, and then finish the summer with a weekend of review and celebration where there will be time, along with others, to share and reflect on the part you and hundreds of others have played in sharing Jesus with Scotland’s young people.
Lendrick Muir is the venue for this year’s Review Weekend from 22-24 August 2025. (Cost is included in your LeadUP booking, please indicate when booking if you will be attending The Review Weekend).
To be eligible for the SQA accredited award, participants must successfully complete all three stages.
Cost: The fee for LeadUP covers

This is a place like no other. Beautiful hillside location. Near Aviemore in the amazing Scottish Highlands.
It’s stunning! The centre has 17 acres of land which we manage in partnership with A Rocha UK. With sports field, wooded areas, and burn, you will find loads of places to play, or sit, reflect and enjoy the view of the mountains.
Located in the Cairngorms National Park, Alltnacriche is at Lynwilg, very close to Aviemore and just off the A9. There are loads of visitor attractions nearby and it’s a fantastic area for outdoor activities. Hard to imagine a better place for a holiday.
